Katy L. RewstonKaty Rewston was born in East Yorkshire but moved to Aberdeenshire at the age of 16, having just left school to start her artistic career and already had work in several galleries. She spent several years working on commisions before at the age of 21 enrolling in Grays School of Art where she graduated with a BA in painting in 2010.

She was primarily self taught before attending university, and specialises mainly in Equine and Wildlife paintings.She works in and acrylics, oils, scratchboard and graphite as well as sculpture, and has a great passion for wildlife and animals which is the main focus of her work.

In 2011 she won the British Birds catagory in the BBC wildlife artist of the year competition with her painting 'The Challenge' and at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art her painting 'Dusk Encounters' was awarded the runner up prize for the Wildscape Magasine award. Following on from this in 2012 she won the British Mammals category of BBC wildlife Artist of the year with ‘Cunning Afoot’ and in 2013 picked up Runner up for British Mammals and Commended in the Animals in their Environment Category and has been shortlisted for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation Wildlife Artist of the year competition for two years in a row.

She has exhibited in several galleries across the country, including the Mall Galleries in London and has donated work to wildlife rehabilitation charities.
